Provincials

About Provincial Club Championships

Water Polo Saskatchewan hosts three Provincial Club Championship (PCC) events per season where clubs compete to become Provincial Champions. The Winter Provincials are hosted mid-season in December, Spring Provincials at the end of March, and Summer Provincials in June. For the exact dates of each event, navigate to the WPS Calendar of Events.

Winter and Spring Provincials

The Winter and Spring Provincials are opportunities for clubs to compete against one another in full FINA regulation games, similar to the water polo games you would see internationally and at the Olympics. These events are hosted at the Shaw Centre in Saskatoon.

These championships represent a step beyond Community League competition. While athlete participation remains a priority, Winter and Spring Provincials are the highest level of intra-provincial competition in Saskatchewan, where clubs compete for the Provincial Title.

Summer Provincials

The Summer Provincials are hosted in Regina at an outdoor facility and played in a beach-style water polo format. Games are played in an adapted format similar to our Community League games. This is a exciting tournament where clubs compete and have fun in the sun!
