19U National Championship League (NCL)

A note from WPC:

"After almost two years of being away, the NCL will be returning for the 2021-2022 season. Due to the pandemic keeping many facilities closed, the NCL regular season will begin in January 2022. For this season the age categories will be 17U (born in 2005 and later) and MLWP (Senior). 15U (born in 2007 and later) and 19U (born in 2003 and later) will be run by the provinces with WPC hosting the National Championships Finals.

To make up for the lost competition, WPC has decided to run two Open Championships in December. These championships taking place will be 15U (born in 2006 and later) and 19U (Born in 2002 and later) National Championships. The 15U Open Championships will occur Dec 2-5 in Alberta, while the 19U Open Championship will occur Dec 16-19 in Markham, Ontario.

Please note that the events could be cancelled if there is a lack of interest, COVID-19 shutting facilities and travel or other unforeseen situations.

The reason that these age categories were chosen (15U born in 2006 and later, 19U born in 2002 and later) was because they were the age groups the most affected by the pandemic during the past 18 month. Therefore WPC wants to provide an opportunity for these athletes to compete using the 2020-2021 age limits. The format of the open championships will be released once registration for them is completed."
